Composer, pianist, recording artist, film and television producer
Jeffrey Michael Deary is a Michigan-raised, self-taught, award-winning composer, pianist, multi-platinum recording artist, and entertainment entrepreneur. Having sold more than 2 million CDs and downloads and amassed more than 30 billion music streams worldwide, Jeffrey has also composed or licensed original music for over 150 film, television, movie trailer, and video game projects.
Jeffrey began playing piano by ear at age six and composing original music by eleven. Entirely self-taught, he does not read traditional musical notation, instead relying on his exceptional ear and a unique compositional shorthand he developed as a child. At fifteen, he borrowed $1,000 from his father to record his original piano compositions, repaying the loan within two weeks. By high school graduation, he had sold more than 5,000 cassettes of his instrumental music.
In 1996, Jeffrey founded Fireheart Music, which grew into a successful independent record label and music production company featuring more than 20 composers and thousands of relaxation music albums and compilations distributed worldwide.
Driven by a lifelong passion for cinematic music, Jeffrey relocated to Los Angeles in 2006. Since then, Jeffrey has composed music that has appeared in major video games like Call of Duty: Black Ops III and IV as well as Google and Cirque du Soleil’s groundbreaking interactive experience Movi.Kanti.Revo; feature films including London Has Fallen, The Admiral, and Dreams and Shadows; movie trailers including The Girl on the Train and Jumanji: The Next Level; television series including Magnum P.I., The White Lotus, The Twilight Zone, and American Horror Story; and advertising music for Asics, McDonald’s, Dodge, Doritos, The Masters, and Pebble Beach Resorts.
Expanding his passion for cinematic storytelling, Jeffrey founded Fireheart Entertainment, an independent film and television production company where he serves as CEO. Combining his musical background with his creative instincts as a storyteller and producer, Jeffrey develops and executive produces feature films and television projects.
His executive producing credits include The Revisionist (Dustin Hoffman, Alison Brie, André Holland), Solo Mio (Kevin James, Alyson Hannigan) and Love, Brooklyn (André Holland), which premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.
From a self-taught young pianist selling recordings to classmates to an accomplished music entrepreneur and film producer, Jeffrey continues to pursue his lifelong passion for creating music and bringing compelling stories to the screen.
